The post I have been waiting for!!! Seriously, I've had this written for weeks now and have been waiting for the right time to share it!
Yes, I had to quarantine. Yes, it was as bad at it sounds. The worst part was being in this beautiful city and watching it all from my window. I had to quarantine for 14 days in my apartment, as soon as I got to Italy. Because I couldn't leave, I had to order and have all my groceries delivered. I used a company called Deliveroo and it was super easy! I cooked in my apartment and order groceries twice a week.
The expectation of quarantine involves lots of working out, cooking breakthroughs, and self reflection. Although, the reality is tons of Netflix, Face-Timing your mom, and wondering how long you can live off of pasta and wine. (??)
QUARANTINE ADVICE
Spending 14 days cooped up myself was really difficult to find things to do with my day. Everyday felt like Sunday.. the day of the week when you feel the most lazy and are really not looking forward to the next day. (I'm talking about Monday) I found that instead of setting this unrealistic list of things, go one day at a time. The one thing I really wanted to focus on was creating this website! My quarantine experience was difficult and lonely, but designing my blog page and writing to you all really helped the 14 days go by. I encourage everyone during these times to find things that motivate you or something that you want to try, and go for it!
MY APARTMENT
The exciting stuff haha! I arrived in Italy 2 weeks prior to school starting and had to self isolate. Since I didn't know anyone and had to be alone, I rented a one bedroom apartment in the city center. The website I used to book my apartment was Florence Concierge. I really enjoyed my stay there, and the hostess Monica was very kind and accommodating. My apartment had a beautiful bedroom, bathroom, mini kitchen, and a dinning/ living room. I would definitely recommend it to someone looking to stay in Florence, who wants more space than a hotel room and more modern than most Airbnb's here.
I lived in this apartment my first month in Italy, then I found my amazing roommates! We are now living in a 3 bedroom apartment near Santa Spirito area. In my first apartment I did minimal decor, I just displayed cards, photos, jewelry, and my facial products. In my new apartment, I have fully decorated and added my personal touches to my new room! I still have an attachment to my first apartment and I found it so beautiful, but I'm loving where I'm living now!
Not sure if anyone would be interested in a post about my current place, lmk!
Much Love,
Gabriella
